Docking station dual monitor 1. How to achieve 4K at 60Hz?
Our Macbook Docking Station supports 4K at 60 Hz.
1. Connect Type C USB cable to your laptop and Host 2.
2. Connect DC power supply
3. Connect your 4K 60Hz compatible display to the HDMI3 port on the MacBook pro dock.
Both Extend and Mirror modes are supported.
How to use all 15 ports?
To use all the ports on the MacBook dock you need to:
1. Connect BOTH Host 1 and Host 2 to your laptop(s)
2. Connect the USB dock to the DC power supply.
3. Use a USB C, Thunderbolt DP 1.4 (1.2) compatible device.
2. How to connect maximum numbers of displays?
If your device supports DP 1.4 and does not have an Intel graphic card (AMD graphic cards preferred) you can:
1. Connect laptop 1 to Host 1
2. Connect laptop 2 to Host 2
3. Connect 3 HDMI displays to HDMI1.2.3
4. Connect a VGA display to the VGA port
Including the two laptop displays, you will have SIX displays in total. (If more than 1 HDMI is connected max output will be 4K at 30Hz, if VGA is connected all ports resolution is limited to 1920*1080 at 60Hz)
1. Please make sure that your computer or device is equipped with USB-C ports.
2. For video output, your USB-C notebook or device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C, or video signals cannot be sent to your monitors. To check whether your device has the necessary DisplayPort Alt Mode and what version it complies with, please refer to the manual of your thunderbolt 3 hub.
3. If the USB-C laptop’s system is compliant with DisplayPort Alt Mode version 1.4, the HDMI port supports high resolution up to 4K@60Hz. Only if the Windows laptop complies with DisplayPort Alt Mode version 1.4 and is equipped with an AMD graphics card, it can display total of 4 screens via 2 HDMI and a VGA. The laptop’s Windows system featuring DisplayPort Alt Mode version 1.2 can support 3 external displays, but you need to set display modes on the laptop to realize it.
4. DC power adapter must be connected in order that the thunderbolt hub runs normally.
5. For stable output, please connect the USB-C PD port to PD fast charger before using USB ports and video output ports.
6. VGA does not support audio output.
7. If two HDMI or above output simultaneously, the maximum resolution only reaches to 4K@30Hz.
8. For 4K resolution, please make sure your host machine, display screen and cable support 4K resolution.
Tran from UK on October 25, 2020This works perfect with my MacBook Pro. I able to connect 3 monitors to this docking station easily. This is extremely portable and has a super small footprint. I appreciate that the item comes with two additional USB-C to USB-C cables. It also comes with an extra VGA port. It would be nice to see perhaps DVI or DisplayPorts but this is definitely great on it’s own. I might need to buy another one for my home office!Ramesh Swamy from US on September 30, 2020WFH for my spouse got extended till middle of next year and we kinda managed with a mess of cables from the laptop. She didnt like all that clutter & wanted a docking station. the earlier laptop had one but the new one she got didnt.
So i was looking for one that does multi-monitor, with USB Ports and most importantly work of USB-C so that i dont have to connect too many cables.
This Choetech docking station fit the bill. Since i have bought other products from them earlier, i wasnt too worried about their build quality.
I got it and plugged in the power supply. I plugged the USB-C cable & attached the other cables to the docking station and fire it up. Nothing... I was thinking what did i do wrong. Then it dawned on me
INSTALL THE USB-C DRIVER that enables the USB-C Port to act like a docking port. Dell has a special driver for it.
I installed it and lo and behold it worked flawlessly
Another important thing. If you want multi monitor support & have only 1 USB-C Port, make sure you use the Host 2 USB C port.
The ethernet, VGA & HDMI worked great. Its very handy as it has 2 USB 3.0 Ports on the front also a headphone jack.
Overall, an excellent compact USB-C Docking Station. Wuu from US on October 3, 2020I was looking to a dock that could handle 2 other monitors for the macbook I use for work. I saw this one and thought I'd always had luck with choetech so I figured I'll give them a try. Getting everything to run was pretty simple and didn't require any special software. The dock is small but has a ton of ports, which is really handy. The 100w pd is nice to keep the laptop powered. You're able to divert the auto through the dock - it showed up on the mac as usb pnp audio device. The dock comes with 2 usb-c cords and the plug for the dock. I'm able to have 3 monitors displaying now so I have as much screen space and I need. The only downside I have for this is each monitor needs to have it's own usb-c cord (i.e. host 1 and host 2 for each of the monitors). I was hoping for all displays to powered and run through the dock and only require 1 plug into my laptop. Aside from that minor quirk this dock is able to give me what I'm looking for. If you're looking for a 2nd external display and don't want to break the bank, this is definitely a nice option. **Edit After tinkering with it a for a bit there's a few things I just wanted to point out. Use the usb-c pd port is for the external power, for me, I connect the Apple charger to this. Host 2 will be charging the laptop so if you only have 1 monitor, I would recommend using the HDMI 2 port so you only have 1 wire connected to your laptop while it's being charged.Westy from USUPDATE 11/20/20:
The hub still works great, but I wanted to add some notes. 1) You can't connect it to just any USB-C port if you want to be able to use the HDMI ports, it has to be a USB 3.1 gen 2 or Thunderbolt 3 port. Also, connecting the Host 1 USB-C port lets you use HDMI 1, and connecting the Host 2 USB-C port lets you use all the other ports on the hub.
Nic from US on October 26, 2020I have a desk setup where I'm constantly swapping between my personal laptop, work laptop, and gaming desktop, and this hub is the perfect solution for connecting to any of them with just one cable. I connect my keyboard, mouse, headset, and monitor to this hub, and run one of the included USB-C cables to whichever computer I need to use. I've been blown away at how sleek this is and how well it works. Usually, I get heat and HDMI issues with USB-C hubs I've used from other brands in the past, but this one handles it all with ease!Humes from US on October 20, 2020Now that I work from home, I have a two monitor setup that is compatible with my Windows laptop. I wanted to enjoy the same setup with my Chromebook (Samsung Chromebook V2). My previous mount only had one HDMI port for an extended monitor. Choetech's 15 in 1 dock has officially solved all of my problems. I can now run both monitors off my Chromebook via HDMI. My USB keyboard worked with no issues and I'm confident that this thing will handle everything else that the instructions say it can!
